Vimala Raman in Apoorva
Bharatanatyam dancer-turned-actress Vimala Raman, who was lucky enough to get a handful of offers from some big banners and directors even before the release of her first movie in Malayalam, Time, directed by Shaji Kailas, is to do the key role in Apoorva to be directed by debutante Nithin Ramakrishnan.
Vimala, who won the Miss India Australia 2004 title and the Miss India Australia Cyber Queen title, is the only actress in Malayalam who has acted with almost all biggies in the industry in the beginning of her career itself (Time with Suresh Gopi, Nasrani with Mammootty, Romeo and Calcutta News with Dileep and College Kumaran with Mohanlal). Her plus point is that she has an unique blend of young looks and mature behaviour, which make her he right choice to act with the seniors and newcomers alike.
Produced by Dr. Samson and Dr. Ramakrishnan under the banner of Gauri Creations, Apoorva features story and script by Nithin himself. The story is about adolescence, relationships and friendships of school life. The film is made on a one crore budget. Music is by Vidhyadharan Master and camera has been handled by Jithu.

Prithviraj in Nagercoil
After the commendable performances in Mozhi, Kana Kandein, Satthum Podaathey, Kannaamoochi Enadaa and Vellitherai, Prithviraj has carved a place for himself in Kollywood and has a lot of offers coming his way. Sources say that the actor is to play an interesting character, one that he has not played so far in Nagercoil to be produced by P. Arumugam.
Nagercoil is about a well-educated rationalist who works as a software engineer. Being a man who loves his urban and modern culture, he is in conflict with his family. He does not believe in the archaic school of thoughts which have made his family rich and famous. He is scared that his family might force him to take up the ancestral profession.
In the course of time, he falls in love and marries a girl (Padmapriya), who is as rational as he is. What happens when she enters his family is what the story focuses on. Sources said that the film portrays this sensitive subject in a beautiful manner. Prithviraj and Padmapriya have acted together earlier in Satthum Podaathey. The film is directed by Surendar and produced under the banner of Tiruppur M.P.S. Theatre. Dialogues are by E.M.S. Raja and songs by Samson.

Mohini getting divorced
It seems to be the season of divorces. Following two famous South Indian actors, Prakashraj and Urvashi, who sought divorces recently, now it is the turn of Mohini, the yesteryear actress who had acted in many films in all the four South Indian languages, especially Nadodi, Parinayam, Ghazal and Pattabhishekam in Malayalam.
Mohini, who debuted in Tamil with Keyar’s Eeramana Rojavae in the early nineties, married Bharath, with whom she was in love, around four years ago; they have a 2-year old son.
Serious difference of opinion between them have forced Mohini to live separately and she was living with her parents. Now the couple mutually agreed to separate and have filed for divorce.
The case came up for hearing on 13th June in the Family Court. The estranged couple was present on the occasion. Justice Narayanasamy posted the next hearing to 15th December.
